Leakage test for faucets and laser marking

The system has been developed to automate tightness control and communication between internal chambers in single-lever and dual-lever faucets.

During the verification process, static and dynamic pressures are monitored, and their differences are compared to detect potential leaks. At the end of the test, the system automatically determines whether the part is acceptable or not. In the case of rejection, the specific area where the leak occurred is indicated, allowing for rapid and precise intervention.

Laser marking and traceability functionality:

In addition to tightness control, the system can perform laser marking of:

  • Brand logo
  • Approval data
  • QR code (which may include serial number, date of manufacture, etc.)

When a QR code is recorded, it is possible to associate the leak test results and upload the data to a server via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, thus generating a digital history of results for each part.

System components:

  • Programmable logic controller (PLC): Coordinates the entire process, including:
  • Leakage verification.
  • Laser marking.
  • The sequence of movements (fixation, placement of plugs).
  • The execution of the process according to the parameters defined by the user through a touch terminal.
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI): Allows the operator to view, control and customize the testing and marking process.
  • Pneumatic circuit: Performs the necessary mechanical functions (fastening, pressurization, etc.).
  • Electrical circuit: Ensures the power supply and control of system signals.

System flexibility:

Specific test programs and sequences can be configured for each faucet model, adapting the system to different technical characteristics and manufacturing needs.
